On a day trip to Burano (Venice) I was attracted to the numerous alleys off the main thoroughfares. They punctuated the Main Street as negative spaces which, when examined more closely, each had a distinct and separate life of their own. Each made up of a different colour palette and a complex variety of shapes, shadows and light. Painted in acrylics. Sweet in a white tray frame. Framed size 54 × 54 cm.
